Nature lovers can explore Sarasota Jungle Gardens a 10-acre garden featuring exotic animals, or the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, which has a stingray touch tank, shark tank, and manatees.
Sarasota is also famous in the golfing world. Many Scots settled in the area in the early twentieth century and golf became a popular hobby for residents. The city is home to the Bobby Jones Golf Club, which was dedicated by Jones in 1927.
Sarasota is also home to Ed Smith Stadium, the spring training site for the Baltimore Orioles.
For those who just want to relax near or on the water, Sarasota offers the world-famous Lido Key Beach and the Sarasota Yacht Club.
